LANCEMAN / 2006–2026

Our family story.

Behind LANCEMAN is a family, a background in practical engineering and a commitment to helping customers get their work done.

Our story brings together the experience of Ian Bailey, the leadership of Craig Bailey, the support of Lynda Bailey and the next generation represented by Matthew Bailey. Across the years, that family involvement has helped shape a business built around cleaning equipment, customer relationships and machines designed for real working conditions.

1 / OUR STORY

2006 onwards — The foundations

The early chapter of our story centres on Craig Bailey working alongside his father, Ian Bailey. Their hands-on experience with cleaning equipment would become the foundation for the development of LANCEMAN.

Working with machines and the people using them gave Craig and Ian a practical understanding of what customers needed: dependable equipment, straightforward operation, access for maintenance and support when something went wrong.

That experience shaped the approach behind the brand. A machine needed to suit the job, the operator and the working environment. Understanding those requirements became central to the family business and remains part of how we work today.

2012 — LANCEMAN enters the market

LANCEMAN entered the market in 2012, bringing Craig and Ian’s pressure-washing experience into a brand of its own.

Developed around durability and customer needs, LANCEMAN became the in-house cleaning equipment brand within CLB CleanEquip. It gave the business a way to offer pressure-washing systems shaped by its own engineering experience and its conversations with customers.

The ambition was clear: to supply equipment that could earn its place in a customer’s business, supported by people who understood how it worked.

3 / OUR STORY

Building machines around the customer

As LANCEMAN developed, customer requirements helped guide the range.

Different businesses needed different solutions. Some required a mobile pressure washer that could be moved between jobs. Others needed a permanent installation, a trailer-mounted system or a van build that combined cleaning equipment with water storage and space for tools.

This led to an increasing focus on complete systems. Tank capacity, hose management, machine positioning, access for servicing and the operator’s daily routine all became part of the discussion.

That approach continues today. We start by understanding what the customer needs to achieve, then work through the equipment and installation needed to support it.

4 / OUR STORY

2016 — Remembering Ian Bailey

In 2016, the family lost Ian Bailey.

Ian had worked alongside Craig and helped establish the practical engineering foundations behind LANCEMAN. His contribution remains an important part of our story.

Continuing the business carried a personal meaning for the family. The experience Craig and Ian had shared remained part of the knowledge behind the machines, and Ian’s place in the business is remembered as LANCEMAN moves forward.

5 / OUR STORY

Craig Bailey — Director and engineering leadership

Craig has remained central to the development of CLB CleanEquip and LANCEMAN.

As Director, his role brings together business leadership, technical experience, customer advice and practical involvement in equipment and installations. From discussing a customer’s requirements to helping determine the right specification, Craig connects the commercial side of the business with the engineering behind it.

His experience working alongside Ian remains part of that approach. Understanding the machine, understanding the application and taking responsibility for the result continue to guide his work.

6 / OUR STORY

Lynda Bailey — Director and family ownership

Lynda Bailey, Craig’s wife, is a Director and part of the family ownership behind the business.

Although she is not involved in its daily operations, her place in the company is an important part of its family structure. The story of LANCEMAN includes the family commitment behind the business as well as the work customers see in the workshop and on site.

7 / OUR STORY

Matthew Bailey — Sales, marketing and the next generation

Matthew Bailey, Craig and Lynda’s son, represents the next generation of the family business.

With a background as a mechanical engineer, Matthew has worked across repairs, operations, planning and LANCEMAN development, alongside his sales and marketing responsibilities.

That practical experience supports his work with customers. Understanding how equipment is built, used and maintained helps him discuss requirements, prepare quotations and explain the options available.

By 2026, Matthew’s role had developed into a full-time Sales Manager position on the road, meeting customers, arranging demonstrations and helping grow awareness of LANCEMAN and the wider CLB offering. Marketing, customer communication and the development of the LANCEMAN website have also formed part of his contribution.

Working alongside Craig, Matthew is helping take the brand forward while retaining the direct, personal service of a family business.

8 / OUR STORY

Growing with the wider CLB business

LANCEMAN’s development has been supported by the wider capabilities of CLB CleanEquip.

Sales, hire, servicing, repairs and installations bring the team into contact with equipment throughout its working life. Those experiences help inform conversations about new machines and bespoke builds.

The wider team also plays an important role. Engineers, workshop staff and delivery support help turn a specification into working equipment and provide the service customers need afterwards.

By 2026, that support included Ainsley Atkinson as Team Leader and Russell Smith supporting deliveries. Their work, alongside the rest of the team, forms part of the service behind the brand.

9 / OUR STORY

2026 — Complete working packages

By 2026, the LANCEMAN offering included cold- and hot-water pressure washers, mobile and static equipment, skid-mounted systems, trailer builds and van-mounted installations. The range had also expanded to include pure-water window-cleaning systems and gutter-cleaning equipment.

Bespoke work remained an important part of the business. Customers could discuss their equipment, water capacity, hose reels, storage and installation requirements as part of a coordinated package.

Working across LANCEMAN, CLB Fleet Fit and CLB CleanEquip also allowed the business to bring together different parts of a project:

LANCEMAN could provide the cleaning equipment and system specification. CLB Fleet Fit could provide vehicle preparation and fittings, including flooring, wall linings, lighting and storage. CLB CleanEquip could support servicing, repairs and ongoing maintenance.

For customers running several services from one vehicle, that joined-up approach helped make better use of the available space and gave them a clear point of contact throughout the project.

A new online chapter

The launch of lancemanbuild.com in September 2026 marked another step in the brand’s development.

The website created a dedicated place for customers to explore the range, request quotations and discuss their requirements. It also supported the development of trade and distributor relationships, helping LANCEMAN reach more businesses across the UK.

Alongside the website, customer visits, demonstrations, exhibitions and social media continued to introduce the brand to new audiences.

The aim remained the same: to connect customers with suitable equipment and provide the knowledge and support to help them use it.

11 / OUR STORY

Our family, our future

From the early family business foundations to the launch of LANCEMAN in 2012 and its continued development through 2026, our story has been shaped by people taking a personal interest in their work.

Ian helped establish the engineering foundations. Craig continues to lead the business and guide its technical direction. Lynda remains part of its family ownership. Matthew is helping develop its sales, marketing and customer relationships for the next generation.

Alongside them is a team whose work helps deliver the machines, installations and support our customers rely on.

As we look ahead, our ambition is to keep building LANCEMAN into a recognised UK brand for dependable cleaning equipment and well-considered bespoke systems.

Why we are here

People first. Equipment second.

Professional cleaning equipment can be complicated. Pressure, water flow, heat, filtration, power supply, payload, hose length and accessories all affect whether a system performs properly.

Our role is to make those choices clearer. We listen to the customer, learn how the equipment will be used and help shape a complete solution around the application, working environment and budget.

01

Listen before specifying

Every recommendation starts with the work: what needs cleaning, where the machine will operate and what matters most to the person using it.

02

Make technical choices clear

We explain pressure, flow, heat, filtration and accessories in useful language, helping customers understand why a specification suits them.

03

Build around the customer

From a standalone pressure washer to a van, trailer, skid, static or container system, the equipment should fit the operation—not the other way around.

04

Support the working life

A strong customer experience continues after delivery through parts knowledge, servicing, repairs, technical support and future upgrades.

The Lanceman approach

A complete system, thoughtfully put together.

We look beyond the headline specification. A machine also needs the right fittings, hose, lances, nozzles, reels, water supply, chemical application and safe installation. Bringing those details together creates equipment that is easier to use and easier to support.

  • Pressure washers and specialist cleaning systems
  • Pure-water and window-cleaning equipment
  • Mobile, static, trailer, skid and container builds
  • Parts, accessories and technical sizing tools
  • Service and multi-brand repair support through CLB CleanEquip Ltd
One simple principleRecommend what is right for the work.

Whether the answer is a straightforward product, a tailored installation or advice to change the original specification, the goal is a dependable result for the customer.

Supported locally

A growing brand with experienced people behind it.

Lanceman works through authorised distributors who can help with product selection, quotations, technical questions and ongoing support. CLB CleanEquip Ltd also provides experienced multi-brand service and repair support.
